Dealer Accelerator uses the inventory a dealer already keeps online as the starting point for private FairWatchTrade drafts. FWT prepares the repetitive structure, the dealer stays in control of the commercial truth, and nothing publishes automatically.

The normal path

Six steps. Nothing publishes on its own.

  1. Step 1
    Connect

    The dealer points FairWatchTrade at the website where their inventory already lives.

  2. Step 2
    Recognize

    FWT reads the inventory the site publishes and recognizes each watch it describes, including watches it has prepared before.

  3. Step 3
    Prepare

    For each watch it can support, FWT prepares a private draft: the structure, the authorized photographs, and the source provenance. Uncertain watches go to Needs Attention instead.

  4. Step 4
    Dealer Confirms

    The dealer confirms the commercial truth of each draft — the things only the dealer can assert.

  5. Step 5
    FWT Reviews

    A confirmed draft is submitted and reviewed like any other FairWatchTrade listing. Dealer confirmation does not bypass review.

  6. Step 6
    Publish

    Only after review does a watch appear in Browse. Nothing publishes on its own.

What the dealer confirms

Four things only the dealer can assert. FWT prepares the draft; it does not assert these for you.

  • The current asking price.
  • The current condition.
  • The current availability.
  • That the photographs depict the watch being offered.

Dealer confirmation does not bypass FWT review. A confirmed draft is submitted for review like any other listing.

When the source is imperfect

Real inventories are not clean. These are the rules FWT applies instead of pretending they are.

A watch has no manufacturer reference.

It goes to Needs Attention. FWT does not invent a reference.

One watch in a batch cannot be prepared.

The good watches continue. One uncertain record does not erase useful work.

The same inventory is connected again.

FWT recognizes what it has already prepared. It does not manufacture duplicates.

Some photographs could not be retrieved.

That watch goes to Needs Attention. FWT does not pretend missing evidence arrived.

  • Prepare the repeatable, supported structure of a listing.
  • Remember prior preparation and avoid creating duplicates.

How a website becomes a source

Dealer Accelerator does not scrape pages. It reads a small file the dealer publishes at a fixed address on their own website, and that file says exactly where the inventory is.

The starting point is the dealer’s public website.

A dealer types the website address. There is no manifest URL to paste and no login to share.

The discovery file.

FWT looks for /.well-known/fairwatchtrade-inventory.json on that site. The file names the inventory document and the photograph location. Publishing a file at that address is something only the site’s administrator can do, which is also how the site is shown to be under the dealer’s control.

The inventory format read today.

One record per line, in NDJSON. The discovery file carries the dealer’s own version label, so an unchanged inventory is recognized rather than re-prepared.

Photographs stay on the same website.

Inventory and photographs must live on the dealer’s own site. A discovery file may not point at photographs elsewhere.

When the source cannot be read safely.

If the file is missing, malformed, or points somewhere FWT will not fetch from, the connection is refused with a named reason and nothing is written. The check that runs before a preparation starts uses the same rules as the preparation itself.
